Dunstan Introduces New Trainers Series.

Dunstan Horsefeeds are proud supporters of the New Zealand Racing Industry and all its participants and are delighted to be introducing a new Trainer’s Series in the Northern Region of the Country. Working alongside the well-established Whangarei Racing Club, the objective of the Series is to encourage Trainers to bring their horses north and celebrate success with those Trainers based in the region.

The Series, to be known as the Dunstan Accumulator, will be based on the accumulation of points across the four winter meetings at the Whangarei track (Sat July 3, Sat July 17, Sat Aug 7, Sat Aug 21). Points will be accumulated based on the official finishing position of horses registered to the Trainer in the series of races. The Trainer with the most points will be declared the winner at the final race meeting on August 21.

The winning trainer will receive a tonne of Dunstan Horsefeed of their choice, supplied and delivered by Dunstan. The series is open to all Trainers with horses starting at Ruakaka in the qualifying races at the July and August meetings.

Dunstan have been proud supporters of the racing and breeding industries since the Company’s inception over 35 years ago. The New Zealand owned, and operated Company produces quality equine nutrition products for New Zealand horses racing in New Zealand conditions.

David Smith, Director and Founder of Dunstan said, “Dunstan gets great mileage and support from the Thoroughbred fraternity, so we are really looking forward to supporting those Trainers who choose to run their horses on such a great winter track. We are always pleased to support the industry in any way we can, so when the Club approached us to get involved with the Club, we jumped at the opportunity.”

Mike Beazley Chairman of the Whangarei Racing Club said, “The Club is looking forward to working with David and the Team from Dunstan. They have always been great supporters of the Racing Industry and to work with them to encourage Trainers to bring their horses north and promote their products to the wider Northland equine sports is something the Club is very excited about”.

Dunstan is an equine-focused business and both of their equine feed manufacturing plants are totally equine-safe. This is something Dunstan prides itself on. Producing safe equine feed is one of the key benefits and points of difference which Dunstan can offer to Owners throughout New Zealand to assist in the well-being of their horses.

All Trainers across the Country are welcome to nominate as many horses as they wish in the qualifying races of Benchmark rating 74 and higher. Points will be allocated as: 1st – 12 points, 2nd - 9 points; 3rd – 6 points, 4th – 3 points, every other runner 1 point.
