Cambridge Stud Leading Vendor – The Dunstan Double

Cambridge Stud Leading Vendor – The Dunstan Double

It was a landmark result at the New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales, and fittingly, it belonged to one of the country’s most iconic nurseries.

Long-standing Dunstan client, Cambridge Stud, capped off an outstanding week at Karaka by being named Leading Vendor for both Book 1 and Book 2, while also presenting the sale-topping yearling in each book.

Headlining the results was Lot 513, a striking colt by emerging sire Sword of State, offered by Cambridge Stud. A half-brother to multiple Group One winner Ceolwulf (NZ), the colt was secured for $1.1 million by Mr Sanxiong Gao and Ciaron Maher Racing.

“We’re a great country, and we breed the best horses. It’s a moment the team are going to remember for the rest of their lives,” said Sir Brendan.

Having already claimed the Leading Vendor title for a remarkable 34th time during Book 1, Cambridge Stud again topped the Book 2 vendor honours, selling a further 14 yearlings for just under $1.2 million.

“A lot of hard work goes in behind the scenes, and these moments are emotional,” added Sir Brendan Lindsay.

“Jo and I believe in our country. Everything we do is about New Zealand. To be part of the 100th anniversary of such an iconic event is very special.”

At Dunstan Horsefeeds, we are incredibly proud to have worked closely with Cambridge Stud this year, supporting their horses at every stage with tailored nutritional plans designed to meet the specific demands of elite breeding and preparation.

Congratulations to Sir Brendan and Lady Jo, Henry, Ben, Cameron and the entire Cambridge Stud Team on an exceptional double. Leading Vendor across both books, sale toppers to match, and a powerful reminder of the strength of New Zealand breeding.

We’re proud to be part of the journey.
