Dunstan Fibre Grow® is one of Dunstan’s flagship products. It is a feed initially formulated to support sound development in the young growing horse, by providing both in-foal mares, foals, weanlings and yearlings a product that incorporates the latest research in nutrition for mares and young growing horses.
Due to its low starch, high-fibre formulation, it not only benefits sound skeletal grow but also supports a more settled disposition, as well as gastric and hindgut health. The product has therefore found favour as a feed during the foundation phase of the young horse’s education as well as while horses are recuperating or spelling. This evolution of Dunstan Fibre Grow® resulted in further development, with the most recent formulation change being an increase in Vitamin E, to support working horses and or those that may have restricted pasture access. Dunstan Fibre Grow® has continued to go from strength to strength.
Due to demand from the retail market for a smaller bag size, Dunstan Breed & Grow was launched. Dunstan Breed & Grow follows the same high specification formulation as Dunstan Fibre Grow®, but its 20kg bag size makes it easier to handle in store and is ideal for single horse owners.
Things never stand still, and Dunstan Horse Feeds prides itself in its responsiveness to customer demand. This responsiveness has led to the latest evolution of Dunstan Breed & Grow.
A number of our markets have had an appetite (so to speak) for a smaller pellet size. Dunstan Fibre Grow®/Dunstan Breed & Grow is currently manufactured as a 10mm nut. We have therefore made the decision to give the customer the option to choose between the traditional larger 10mm nut or a smaller 6mm pellet. Going forward Dunstan Breed & Grow will be manufactured in a 6mm pellet size while Dunstan Fibre Grow® will remain in the larger 10mm nut size, which is ideal for paddock feeding and when birds are a nuisance at feed time.
