We are proud to announce the start of the 27th Dunstan Stayers Series, kicking off tomorrow with four qualifying races, three at Pukekohe Park and one at Wanganui.
Adding to a massive day of racing at Pukekohe, the meeting will also feature the Group II Dunstan Horsefeeds Auckland Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes, further cementing Dunstan’s long-standing commitment to supporting the New Zealand Racing Industry across the country.
This year’s Stayers Series will once again provide a pathway for New Zealand’s strongest staying talent, with qualifying opportunities across November and December before the Championship Final run on Boxing Day at Ellerslie.
A Milestone Year Recognised With a One-Tonne Dunstan Custom Blend Award
To celebrate 27 years of the Dunstan Stayers Series, Dunstan Horsefeeds is proud to offer a special prize to the winning trainer of the 2026 Final:
A one-tonne Dunstan Custom Blend order, created in collaboration with the Trainer to match their stable’s requirements.
Each Dunstan Custom Blend is formulated by Dunstan’s Equine Nutritionist, Gretel Webber, ensuring premium nutrition tailored specifically to the demands of the thoroughbred and the feeding philosophies of the winning stable.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 27th year of support,” said David Smith, Founder of Dunstan Horsefeeds.
“To mark the milestone, we wanted to provide something meaningful, a tonne of Dunstan Custom Blend, as a way for us to directly contribute to the ongoing success of the winning stable and to continue giving back to an industry that has long supported Dunstan.”
Dunstan Horsefeeds, a 100% New Zealand-owned and operated Company, has stood beside the Racing Industry since Dunstan’s inception in 1986. With feeds made from locally grown grains and designed specifically for New Zealand conditions, Dunstan continues its long-standing commitment to providing premium equine nutrition and supporting the future of New Zealand’s racing talent.
“It’s been a terrific journey watching some of New Zealand’s best stayers come through the series. What’s really rewarding is that this isn’t just an event for the big stables, we’ve seen incredible support from trainers and breeders across the country,” said Smith.
The Dunstan Stayers Series remains one of New Zealand racing’s longest-running commercial partnerships, an enduring collaboration that has championed stayers nationwide for nearly three decades.
