Dunstan Broodmare

Dunstan Broodmare Mix is a feed formulated to meet the high nutrient requirements of the mare during late pregnancy, whilst lactating, and as the first feed for foals prior to weaning.

During the latter stages of lactation, the foal's nutrient requirements often exceed the nutrients that can be obtained from mare's milk alone, indeed pasture quality is often deteriorating at this time, making it increasingly difficult for the mare to maintain both milk volume and quality to her foal. Dunstan Broodmare Mix is a supplement to pasture, to help bridge the nutrient gap for both the mare and foal.

The extrusion cooking process applied to cereal grains and proteins by Dunstan considerably enhances the energy values of conventional cereal grains, enabling a concentrated nutrient package to be formulated from a relatively small quantity of hard feed. The addition of vegetable oil and soya protein ensures the correct balance of nutrients for this important pre-weaning stage.

The advantage of a complete feed programme is one of providing a balanced diet every day in a convenient, palatable and economic form.
