Dunstan Race-Ease

Dunstan Race-Ease is a racing supplement formulated to maximise those nutrients identified as having an effect in aiding horses prone to tying up and muscle disorders.

It is a high energy racing formula utilising the technology of extrusion to provide an oat free diet, with the cereal portion provided as extruded barley and maize. The addition of sugar beet shreds provides a palatable digestible fibre source noted for it's positive effects in cases of tying up.

High levels of Vitamin E and selenium are included in this formula, with selenium provided in the more available form of Selenium Yeast. Additional electrolytes as potassium chloride and magnesium oxide are included to aid muscle integrity and assist in reducing anxiety from magnesium deficiency. Chromium yeast is included as an aid to overall energy utilisation and as an agent to help reduce lactic acid accumulation, a factor often associated with tying up.

Dunstan Race-Ease is a complete feed and should not be mixed with additional grains or supplements unless directed by your veterinarian. Free access to hay and roughage sources should be available at all times.

Feeding Recommendations

It is important that fibre intake is increased for horses prone to tying up to ensure good hind gut physiology, particularly when high energy feeds are being fed.

Introduce feed gradually increasing feed amounts in relation to body condition and degree of work activity.

Feed in a minimum of two feeds per day but preferably three or four.

  • Medium work intensity 4-6 Kg
  • Racing 6-7 Kg
