Managing Mycotoxins - Dunstan Stagger Nuggets
Spring is a time of the year when many horses are feeling good and appreciating the warmer weather and spring pasture growth.
However, in some situations, you may find that you consider your horse’s behaviour to be a little more erratic and difficult than simply ‘spring joy’. In these instances, the use of a Mycotoxin Binder can be beneficial.
Many horse owners report a significant change in behaviour and attitude with their horses becoming increasingly spooky, erratic and easily stressed at certain times of the year.
During a change of season or when pastures are stressed due to frosts, drought or overgrazing the level of Mycotoxins in pastures will often increase. Mycotoxin Binders, when added to a horse’s feed, bind to the mycotoxins, causing them to be excreted before being absorbed into the bloodstream of the horse. This avoids the associated side-effects of mycotoxins. Ideally Mycotoxin Binders should be spread over as many feeds per day as possible but at least a minimum of two.
Dunstan Stagger Nuggets are a convenient way to provide an effective Mycotoxin Binder. Being in the form of small extruded nuggets, Dunstan Stagger Nuggets can be added to the feed or fed on their own.
