Dunstan Keg Fibre Balancer

Dunstan Keg Fibre Balancer, complements the Dunstan Fibre Plus and Dunstan Fibre Grow formulations as a feed for growing horses that are showing signs of Developmental Orthopaedic Disease type conditions, which may result from high quality pasture influencing rapid growth rate.

  • Premium Quality - Dunstan Fibre Balancer contains the same high specifications of protein, amino acids and supplements as Dunstan Fibre Plus, but with elevated trace mineral and vitamin levels to compensate for a reduced daily feed intake. Dunstan Fibre Balancer provides for a reduced intake of protein and energy whilst maintaining the important daily requirements for minerals, essential for bone and cartilage integrity and development during the growing period.

  • Research and Results - The higher fibre and low glycaemic index nature of this formulation may assist in the negative interaction between insulin production and cartilage or joint development, providing a positive influence on bone formation and freedom from joint abnormalities.

Feeding Recommendations

Dunstan Fibre Balancer is formulated to provide for the daily mineral requirements of the growing Weanling or Yearling from a reduced level of concentrate feed. Good quality pasture or hay should be fed in conjunction with Dunstan Fibre Balancer to ensure adequate roughage intake. Regular exercise is an important management aspect to ensure correct bone and joint development.

  • April - July 1 - 2 Kg Per Day
  • August - October 2 - 3 Kg Per Day
  • November - February 3 - 3.5 Kg Per Day

To ensure a consistent and regular growth pattern it is important that pasture quality is maintained. If pasture quality deteriorates, a move to Dunstan Fibre Plus or Dunstan Fibre Grow may be appropriate.
